EU ETS Verification for the aviation sector

Since 2010, the aviation sector is involved in the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). If you are operating flights to, from and within Europe, you will have to meet legislative requirements of the EU member state to which you have been assigned.

To achieve compliance with the EU-ETS directives, aircraft operators have to use an approved methodology to monitor carbon dioxide emissions from burning fuel over EU airspace. Then they have to submitting a verified report with the emissions data. Finally operators have to offsett the emissions produced by surrendering the corresponding number of carbon credits to the authorities.

Failure to comply with the reporting and surrendering requirements will result in sanctions and penalties imposed by the individual EU member state to which the operator is allocated.

Our company ETSverification GmbH stands guard to help aircraft operators through the maze of directives and achieve ETS compliance and more.
